If We Are to Kill Capitalism Before It Kills Us, We Must Unite in Revolutionary Solidarity. But How Do We Transcend the Fragmentation by Which the Capitalists Keep Us Divided?

GENOCIDE IS GENOCIDE however it is inflicted. Dead is dead whether we are killed in wars of extermination, as were the First Nations peoples; or slain in death camps, as were the peoples targeted by the German Nazis and their allies; or murdered by the infinitely more devious methods the Capitalists and their professional and managerial vassals have devised since World War II.

Today genocide is accomplished not as it was at Wounded Knee by the United States Government or at Auschwitz by the German Third Reich. Such brazen tactics cannot easily be disguised by euphemisms and are therefore no longer fashionable. Instead, Capitalism's engineers of mass murder now kill us by methods they have cleverly designed to absolve themselves by shifting all blame onto the dead and onto those of us who will soon be similarly slain. This is the obvious rationale behind the deadly denial of healthcare, which already murders at least 50,000  USian women, children and men every year and will murder millions more in the near future. It is obviously the motive for the deadly militarization of local police, who have killed 681 women, children and men thus far this year. And it unquestionably explains the deadly environmental poisoning of local, typically lower-income and/or minority neighborhoods, the death toll from which is one of Capitalism's most closely held secrets. But its magnitude of slaughter is exemplified by the 25,000 women, children and men murdered by USian corporate moral imbecility  at Bhopal in 1984.

In all such circumstances, the Capitalists respond by blaming the victims: “you should have bought better health insurance”; “you should have submitted to the police”; “you should have moved to a better neighborhood.” And in the USian Homeland – where the Trump-Pence victory demonstrates the long-term consequences of methodical conditioning in a toxic ethos that combines Ayn Rand selfishness with Prosperity Gospel hatefulness – Capitalism's malicious retorts are accepted as absolute truth. The result is a climate in which genocide is perfectly acceptable, much as it was in Germany after the Nazis and their fascist allies (including Henry Ford himself) embraced the pre-Holocaust slanders propagated by The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. 

With these facts as preface – bearing in mind genocide is genocide however it is accomplished; that dead is dead whether we are slain by by cop bullets or murdered by denial of healthcare or killed by environmental poisoning; and that the Capitalists and their managerial and professional vassals are now openly targeting any of us they deem no longer exploitable for profit – let us look at the relevant news:

The Murderous Brutality of the Militarized Police and the Genocidal Deadliness of Healthcare Denial Are Each Expressions of Capitalism's Gleefully Sadistic Moral Imbecility

(Note: The following commentary is addressed to those readers who have not yet realized that Marxism provides our only means of liberation from our present socioeconomic and political subjugation.)

THE OUTRAGES PERPETRATED by the Trump-Pence Regime provide us an ongoing series of wake-up calls that are undoubtedly the best opportunities for life-changing consciousness-raising our nation's sordid history has provided since the Great Depression. That's because the Trump-Pence Regime is, albeit in a decidedly perverse sense, the most honest regime to rule the Empire in my 77-year lifetime and quite possibly in the Empire's entire post-1776 history. Unlike its predecessors, it makes no attempt to hide its brutality or even cloak its viciousness with euphemisms. It brazenly revels in its murderously greedy Capitalist despotism much the same way Adolf Hitler reveled in his genocidal savagery. Nor does the regime conceal its malevolent intent to perpetuate that despotism by imposing the zero-tolerance tyranny that defines JesuNazi theocracy – that brazenness itself a radical departure from the regimen of secrecy that formerly cloaked the theocrats' schemes.

But the revolutionary significance of these developments is usually ignored or deliberately concealed by Mainstream Media, which means the lessons implicit in these teachable moments typically go unlearned. Mainstream Media, let us not forget, is owned by the some of the same Capitalists who own all USian governments at every level. Therefore in terms of function, Mainstream Media is the privately-owned, for-(obscene)-profit variant of Josef Goebbels' infamous Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda. Thus the USian shibboleth of “our democracy” – which given the Empire's apocalyptic power and intent is undoubtedly the most self-destructive Big Lie in our species' history – is perpetuated by the same sorts of ignorance, disinformation and outright falsehood that sustained the Nazi Party in Germany.

Thus too we are so often deprived of any analysis that forthrightly names what is being done to us (subjugation, enslavement and extermination as Capitalism inevitably metamorphoses into fascism); why it is being done (no-limit, get-it-before-the-apocalypse-kills-us-all profiteering by the Capitalists); and how we might resist and perhaps even prevail despite the apparent omnipotence granted the Capitalists by their ownership of USian government at every level.

As a result we-all-too frequently feel as if we are drowning in a miasma of hopelessness. And too many of us are yet suffering from the Marxophobia in which we were forcefully conditioned during the so-called “cold war” against the Soviet Union and its allies, especially China, Vietnam and Cuba. Thus despite our growing individual and collective anger, we remain a subjugated people, never mind the fact Marxism provides us not only the one analysis that explains our circumstances as an extreme manifestation of class warfare, but offers us the one proven path to liberation from fascism (the ultimate example of which is how the Red Army liberated all of Eastern Europe from the Nazis in World War II), and also outlines for us the ideological discipline necessary to make it happen.

Meanwhile – despite the regimen of censorship that increasingly limits what we are allowed to read, hear or view from Mainstream Media – the ugly truth occasionally seeps out, ironically in the ongoing propaganda campaign to convince us the Trump-Pence regime is the exception rather than the rule. 

 

Here in the USian homeland, what is evolving into triumphant dominance is a unique hybrid of fascism and Christian theocracy that should properly be labeled JesuNazism. Such is Capitalism as it seeks to ensure its survival by maturing into fascism, chiefly to embrace fascism's definitive brutality to silence and eventually exterminate those of us whose well-being the Capitalists gravely threaten or have already destroyed. 18 Subversive Stories Sandwiched between 2 Rebellious Rants, Each Sentence Cobbled Together in Horrifically Harried Haste

EXPLANATORY RANT (AKA PREFATORY WHINING): because I am more jammed up than ever – not only the time normally consumed by the monthly newsletter I edit and produce as an unpaid volunteer for the low-income senior housing complex in which I live, but as never before has happened during the newsletter's production week, the time stolen by the excruciatingly painful labor of preparing for the federally mandated quarterly premises inspection by which our overlords ensure we impoverished tenants are spit-in-our-faces reminded of our place as subhuman, god-cursed garbage near the very bottom of Biblical Capitalism's malicious caste system – the text accompanying the following links will be unusually abbreviated, for which I apologize in advance.

My alternative is to post no Dispatches at all until Sunday, a surrender to circumstance I am not willing to make, never mind the necessarily thorough pre-inspection housecleaning damns me give it approximately 18 of the hours I would normally devote to volunteer journalism. Thus instead of sitting comfortably at my desk reading and thinking and writing as I would be doing either in relaxed mode for the newsletter or at peak intensity for Dispatches, I am forced by the looming inspection to suffer the truly agonizing bending and twisting the cleaning chores inflict on my officially disabled 77-year-old flesh, my disability the legacy of long-ago back, shoulder and knee injuries that were formerly dormant but which about a decade ago became hopelessly arthritis-inflamed and will therefore remain inescapably painful until my sufferings are at last relieved by the total anesthesia that is the one great blessing of death. Plus there's the oppressive sense of exhaustion that is the consequence of both the intensified pain and the breathlessness – the chief symptom of my slowly but steadily worsening congestive heart failure – that like some monstrous leaden straitjacket crushes my chest whenever I engage in unaccustomed exertion, as is required by scrubbing a dirty linoleum floor or cleaning rugs the thickly woven material of which makes vacuuming nearly as difficult as mowing tall grass with a very dull version of an old-fashioned hand-powered mower.

As they really do say in the theater whether on Broadway or off – this from the actresses I dated during my Manhattan prime – “the show must go on.” Hence, without further ado, here's the news:

First Lots of Bad News, but Then – As If to Bolster the Opiate of Hope – a Little Good News (Though Only from Two Locales)

REVOLUTION OF 1776 SPAWNED BY SLAVE-OWNERS' FEARS OF ABOLITION: New scholarship confirms beyond argument something my Marxian father taught me 67 years ago – that the hidden motive  behind the so-called “American revolution” was the preservation of slavery. In other words, what the “patriots” intended was nothing more than the 18th Century equivalent of a Nazi coup – an intent repeatedly underscored by its subsequent history,  for which see also here, here, here,  and here. (Disclosure: my paternal ancestors include Margaret Blisse and Mary Blisse, mother and daughter who were independent women farmers in Connecticut during the mid 1640s and were imprisoned on charges of witchcraft but somehow managed to beat the rap. By the time of the revolution, the family had moved to Boston, where they were lawyers and merchants, one a graduate of Harvard, another of Yale. All were Loyalists; thus their lands were confiscated, and they were driven – at bayonet-point and with only such possessions as they could carry on their backs – into permanent exile. The men then served as officers in the British Army, while their wives and children fled to Canada. My immediate paternal ancestors did not return to the United States until the early 1900s.)

Every outrage and atrocity inflicted on us by the Trump/Pence Regime is an expression of Biblical Capitalist Christianity's theocratic malignancy.

THE LATEST ON THE EVER-ESCALATING WAR AGAINST FEMALE SEXUALITY: How the attack on the Affordable Care Act (i.e. “Obamacare”) is largely motivated by the regime's intent to deny Working Class women any and all means of birth control.

END OF CHURCH/STATE SEPARATION ALREADY SPARKING THEOCRATIC ACTION: The Roberts Court – aka the Robber Court or SCROTUS (Supreme Capitalist Regulators of the United States [the judges who have us all by the crotch]) – has already ordered the supreme courts of Colorado and New Mexico to reconsider decisions  prohibiting taxation in support of religious schools. DENVER COPS BUST ANTI-TRUMPCARE DISABILITY ACTIVISTS: The Hill reports 10 protesters were arrested after they staged a two-day sit-in at Republican Senator Cory Gardner's office. TEXAS SUPREME COURT UNANIMOUSLY SUPPORTS CHRISTIAN ANTI-LGBTQ SUIT: These so-called “justices” essentially argue homophobic bigotry is a right of statehood (yes, just as slavery was a right of antebellum statehood). Black-robed tyrants all, they claim, “despite the (U.S.) Supreme Court’s decision that same-sex couples must be allowed to marry...a state may be permitted to give same-sex couples a piece of paper declaring them married while denying them the actual legal benefits of marriage.”
