HERE
ARE TODAY'S links to what seem the most reliably informative (and
therefore presumably useful) Internet reports on the rapidly spreading
Coronavirus epidemic:
From the Associated Press:
Vital question with U.S. healthcare a privilege of wealth rather than a human right.
Self-explanatory.
Self-explanatory.
A national summary.
Journalistic reality in the ever-more-tyrannical 21st Century.
An deadly example of how Neoliberal profiteering jeopardizes our entire species.
Neoconfederate normalcy.
Coming soon to the United States.
Blaming the virus for the horrors of global Neoliberalism.
Weekend Virus Roundup:
An AP report I should have posted Friday.
A Who-What-Why report I should have posted Friday.
No surprise in a realm where healthcare is by law a privilege of wealth.
Whose neighborhood might be next?
Also Relevant:
An AP report the Mainstream Media Propaganda Machine (MMPM) mostly suppressed.
As ever, policing the Empire with terrorism.
But the Democratic (sic) Party can be trusted to be the Republicans' Fifth Column.
Is the Democrats' wanna-be Emperor truly non compus mentis?
(As always, headlines are reproduced in their original up-style and down-style formats.)

AGAIN
MY APOLOGY for the tardiness of this post; it seems whenever I estimate
how long a chore on the computer will take, I should multiply the
estimate by at least a factor of six. The formatting of the above
required not the 30 minutes I allowed, but rather three full hours and
an additional six minutes of struggle, partially because of the volume
of material that accumulated over the weekend but mostly because my
dyslexia-crippled brain is permanently unable to master computer
operation.
(Which
-- as indeed I know most uncomfortably -- means that even with all
other factors remaining equal, I would never have been able to make it
in journalism if by 1956 computers had already replaced typewriters and
hot type. And which also leaves me wondering -- here in this
Neoliberal-conquered realm wherein even the most minimal mental
disability damns one forever as a non-person -- how many millions of
younger dyslexics are now barred not only from journalism but from any
other sort of productive life by the insurmountable barrier dyslexia
presents to computer operation.)
My
immediate solution -- again with apology -- is therefore to change the
publication schedule of these updates. Nor is this merely to accommodate
my own irremediable flaws. By publishing around 1 a.m. Pacific time,
these selections will be more like morning-newspaper-fresh on every U.S.
coast.
Two
more changes, as above: the "Weekend Virus Update" and "Also Relevant"
grew out of two realizations; the first was of the surprisingly huge
amount of virus news that broke over the weekend; the second was the
fact that on some days -- especially after contemplating growing
confirmation of the Gaia Hypothesis (which in an ultimate irony was
often the core ethos of so-called "primitive" religion) -- my editorial
judgement and journalistic intuition admonish me for hitherto excluding
what perhaps we might regard as "context stories," descriptions of the
national and global realms wherein the virus is amok. Especially when
those stories are downplayed or suppressed by the MMPM, the world's
first privately-owned for-profit copy of Josef Goebbels' infamous Reich
Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda.
